• I set up a WordPress site in public_html/wordpress — with WordPress in it’s own subdirectory. I have exactly followed the WordPress codex “Using a pre-existing subdirectory to install”. I copied the .htaccess and index, php files to public_html, changed the index.php files as directed in the Codex and reset permalinks.

In wp-admin under “Settings / General” I have:
    Wordpress Address URL: http://woofandhoofcbd.com/wordpress
    Site Address (URL): http://woofandhoofcbd.com

However, the site is not showing up. I get the HostGator Getting Started window. This site was originally purchased from GoDaddy but the name servers were changed to reflect HostGator and according to HostGator are set up properly.

Does anyone have any ideas on what I’ve done wrong and how to fix it.

  • Hi, @dgdesigns. I’m currently seeing a WordPress website when I view http://woofandhoofcbd.com/ (i.e., I see a picture of a dog and a horse, and other content, not a HostGator “Getting Started” message).

Thanks, It does seem to be working now. Sorry for the confusion. Perhaps it took a while for it to update. Thanks for looking into it though. I appreciate it.
