    Hi,

I’m using GSK on a WP 6.0.3, PHP 8.1.7 installation in conjunction with the official AMP plugin.

I had to change the permalink for one post two times, so I have two existing and working redirects to the final permalink (no loops created). Sometimes GSK still seems to track the old URLs (not always though), happens for AMP query string requests and also for normal requests.

Did reset GSK already via Settings > Admin Settings > Reset Site Kit, but it didn’t fix the issue.

How can I fix this and how to prevent it in the future?

    Thanks and best regards,
    eC

    Hi there @ecronik,

Thanks for reaching out. As Site Kit pulls the information from a users Search Console and Analytics accounts directly, the information from the redirected URL may still have data associated with site visited and impressions from search. The URLs since redirected won’t be collecting data going forward now that they’re redirected, so it may just be case of waiting.

How can I fix this and how to prevent it in the future?

I’ll need to check this further with some redirects in place, from a site with traffic. I suspect it’s just a matter of waiting. Did you apply the redirects more than one week ago? If so, you can check the 7 day reporting period to confirm that there is no data associated with the non existing URLs anymore (with the redirects).

    Hi James,

thanks for your quick reply! I created the redirects less than 7 days ago but didn’t realize that more data is getting considered for the tracking. Thanks for the clarification, then I just wait.

    Have a nice day,
    eC
