redirecting issue

I set the login page to homepage in “reading” so now the login page comes up, but when a person logs in it just shows a blank page. In subscriber role I set it to a custom URL to go to the page, did the same in the login form, but it still keeps going this page with nothing on it, that I can’t even find in the page list.
