I’ve now installed Rank Math on two sites.

The first site had a hundred or more entries in the Redirections plugin. Rank Math indicated it had imported the redirections. During this process it took the liberty of deactivating the Redirections plugin. I was not aware of this. Consequently, a day later hundreds of ad campaigns on Google failed (were rejected) due to missing URLs (these campaigns depended on the redirections). It was only when this occurred that I discovered there were a total of zero redirections set up in Rank Math and our former Redirections plugin was disabled. Not good folks.

I assumed this was just a one-off glitch. However, today I installed RM on another site. Exactly the same thing happened. Rank Math indicated it had imported four redirections, and it disabled the Redirections plugin. Yet there are zero redirections configured in Rank Math.

I am sharing this because if this is consistently happening (i.e. a bug), it needs fixing, promptly.

Now that the wizard is complete, there appears to be no way to manually import the settings from the Redirections plugin. So we’re back to disabling that feature in RM, and reinstating the Redirections plugin.
