Redirection log only collecting 24hr data

I have just started looking at the logs. The redirection log is only collecting 24hrs worth of data despite being set for a week. The 404 logs however are maintaining the data for the set 7 days.
We have tried changing the setting to a month, but it is still only showing a days worth of redirection logs (as you would expect, this is both in the log interface and if you export the log).
I am unsure how long this has been happening given I have only just started closely looking at this log (rather than the 404s) this week.
I have checked the forum and github issues register and do not see this issue listed by others. Do you know if this is a bug or have any suggestions about how we could rectify this?
