    Hi!

I have changed the permalinks of some custom taxnonmy types (for example from …/region/… to …/wo/…)

But Yoast still writing …/region/… as canonical urls and og-urls to the source code of their archives… This causes redirection loops…
How can I fix that issue? 🤔

Thank you so much for your help!

    Hi,

Can you confirm you are using the latest version of WordPress 5.4.2 and Yoast SEO for WordPress v14.6.1?

We understand that you’ve changed the permalinks of some of your custom taxonomy types but the canonical and og:URL is still referencing the old permalink structure, is this correct?

Could you please provide us with a sample URL so we can check on this further?

Yes, I use both: WP 5.4.2 and Yoast 14.6.1

Right, this is exactly the problem. For example, one of the affected URLs is:

    kidsdabei.de/wo/bremerhaven/

I found out that the Canonical and og URLs are correct again once you update the taxomomy in the backend. Even if you have not made any changes. However, this is quite an effort with large websites. Therefore it would be better if Yoast would adjust this automatically and, if necessary, simply request the current URL from WordPress, unless the user has entered something in the Yoast panel. This would may solve the problem in a very simple way. 🤔

@fsaviator We reviewed the page https://www.kidsdabei.de/wo/bremerhaven/ and have confirmed that the canonical being output is incorrect:

    <link rel="canonical" href="https://www.kidsdabei.de/region/bremerhaven/" />

To resolve this, can you please try the following steps?:

      1. Install & activate the Yoast Test Helper plugin
      2. Go to Tools -> Yoast Test
      3. Hit the “Reset Indexables & Migrations” button
      4. Click the “Click here to speed up your site now” button.

    Hi @fsaviator ,
