Redirection Plugin, problem redirecting from old site.

Hi,

I installed the Redirection Plugin, I am looking into redirecting my old web pages which are currently live, to my new wordpress pages which are currently in a sub folder in the domain named for example /wordpress on my server.

When I try to redirect using the plugin, my current page structure is for example like this;

mysite/includes/page.html

I want to redirect to this page to;

mysite/wordpress/page.html

When I redirect my old page nothing happens, so I thought it could be because they are in different folders, but when I try redirecting a page that is already in my new site to another page on the new site, it works, so for example if I redirect;

mysite/wordpress/page.html

to

mysite/wordpress/page2.html

The above redirection works no problem, but if I try to redirect from the old site page, to the new one, nothing happens.

I will when the site is fully functional move my wordpress site to the root, but I just want to test these redirections first and wonder if when I move the wordpress to the root, would these redirects work if they are not currently.

Has anybody got any advice?
