redirection to version with trailing slash

    I set my URL structure in Permalink Settings in Word Press to Post name (https://www.example.com/sample-post/).

    I just noticed that when you type in URLs without the trailing slash, that they are not redirected to the canonical version with the trailing slash.

    Shouldn’t the URLs without a trailing slash be redirected by Word Press according to the URL structure settings?

    Or do I have to solve this in this plugin?

    Probably WordPress should do it, but you may want to check your settings and .htaccess file. The main WP forum is the best place for further help with this.
