Thank you for reaching out and I am happy to help!
It’s not a normal behavior if the Redis server is running. Can you please check this on with your host and make sure tha the Redis instance is running and make sure to restart Redis server?
My host replied that redis is not available for shared hosts. I though it was available because i see an option on my php panel to enable or dissable Redis.
So is it normal that i see Redis as an option while running the setup guide? Or i should just ignore Redis as a solution even if it appears as on option?
Thank you for your feedback. Well that is strange. Why have it as and option if you cannot use it? What happens is taht the W3TC can see the Redis however it cannot connect to it and the reason may be that it’s not available on your server due it’s being a shared host. If you cannot user Redis you can ignore it, however, I would recommend not to use Disk Caching methods for DB Caching or Object Caching.
Thank you for your feedback. While I understand how you may be feeling now, I would also suggest you check the warning below. The problem may occur in the future, depending on the number of files and how big the website is. IF you choose to use Disk, please note that we do not recommend this, and make sure to regularly check the Disk space. You are free to make tests, and if a problem occurs, please let me know immediately
Thank you!
