    Hi there,

It seems that the browser is attempting to load a CSS file, but the server is returning content with the MIME type text/html instead of text/css.

This usually means that the CSS file is either missing or being redirected, so the browser refuses to apply it. Possible indicators:

    • Cache plugin issue (WPO Minify / WP Optimize / LiteSpeed Cache): The cache may be corrupted. When the CSS file no longer exists in the cache, the server returns an HTML 404 page instead of the CSS file.
    • Server or CDN redirection (301/302): The request for the CSS file might be redirected to an HTML page (e.g., the homepage) instead of serving the actual stylesheet.
    • Permission or rewrite configuration issue : The server (Apache/Nginx) may be blocking access to cached files or rewriting requests incorrectly, resulting in an HTML fallback being served.

Please check with your hosting provider so they can help you fix this issue.

Is this relate to this https://ww.wp.xz.cn/support/topic/css-issue-every-24-48-hours/ ?

    Please confirm.

Yes, @paourissi – it’s the same. Elementor is deleting /wp-content/uploads/elementor/CSS files on a daily basis. That’s why your caching plugin (HTML files and minified files) can’t find them.

Is there going to be a fix?

I dont know yet, I truly hope so. The ticket is created, we will have to wait.

If you scroll down on the ticket (https://github.com/elementor/elementor/issues/33057), there is a mu-plugin code made by me you can also try. Check on a daily basis if Elementor keeps creating new files in /wp-content/uploads/elementor/css to see if it works. For now, its working for me. Just delete the cache after adding the mu-plugin and let Elementor regenerate the CSS – afterwards, just control the date on the CSS files, if they arent changed.

    Hi @paourissi,

Thank you for reaching out and for providing the details and screenshot.

Based on the behavior you described, this issue isn’t related to Elementor but rather to the caching plugin on your site. It appears that the cached CSS and JS files are being removed or regenerated incorrectly, causing Elementor’s styles and scripts to break until you manually purge the cache.

I recommend reporting this issue to your caching plugin’s support team so they can check the cache handling and versioning setup. They’ll be able to assist in ensuring that your cached files are properly refreshed and retained.

In the meantime, you may try temporarily disabling the caching plugin and checking if the issue persists, this will confirm that it’s indeed coming from the cache.

Please let us know if you need further guidance from our side.

@ricav Its definetely an Elementor issue. I checked it with my cache plugin creators. Also in the comments above others have described the same issue. Thank you.

    Hi there,

    Thank you for your feedback,

In this case, after some review from the R&D team, they have decided to create a Feature Request to either add an option to disable the automatic CSS regeneration and/or change the default period (24 hours) for this task.

Besides that, we are unable to give a definite ETA for when such a new feature will be available.

You can follow up for updates on our Changelog of Elementor to see when this issue gets updated.

    Sorry for the inconvenience.

Feel free to contact us in case you need further assistance.

    We’d be happy to help.

@miloss84 Do we have any updates on the issue?

    Hi there,

Thank you for reaching out again.

At the moment, there are no new updates regarding this request. Our developers are actively reviewing and working on potential improvements, including the option to disable the automatic CSS regeneration and/or adjust its default interval.

We do expect that such enhancements may be implemented in future versions of Elementor, but unfortunately we still don’t have an exact ETA for when this will be released.

We recommend keeping an eye on our Elementor Changelog, where all new features and fixes are officially announced.

    Thank you for your understanding.

    Kind regards,

Hi @miloss84 any news about this? I’ve observed this problem in the site and it’s quite annoying having to do manual maintenance, also a bad look to the customers, of course, as it totally wrecks the site styling.

HI @morphiazz that mu-plugin looks interesting, thanks! I’d need to dissect it to fully understand what it’s doing but what if one triggers the “Clear Files & Data” function in Tools via code at scheduled times? That seems to workaround the problem.

    Hi there,

Thank you for following up with us.

Currently, there are no new updates regarding this request. Our development team is still reviewing it and exploring potential improvements, including the ability to disable automatic CSS regeneration or adjust its default interval.

We anticipate that these enhancements may be included in future Elementor releases; however, we do not have a confirmed ETA at this time.

We suggest keeping an eye on the Elementor Changelog, where all updates, new features, and fixes are officially posted.

We appreciate your patience and understanding.

    Kind regards,
