regarding gtin code

    Hi

    we are reseller of branded item online, so do we need Gtin number? we are not manufacturer or brand owners. we just buy from them and sell products through retail and online.

    already the brand has EAN barcode on each products.

    so do we need to create another number as GTIN/EAN number on each products to sell online.?

    suppose if we create another code from your plugin, will it have any conflicts between original brand owner EAN number and our new generated code with your plugin? will it be allowed in online selling especially google?

    pls advise on the above thanks.

    Hello,

    There are 2 ways to achieve what you need:

    1. If products already have EAN/UPC barcodes (created by brand) then you can use them to sell on google and other marketplaces.

    2. The second way is to purchase your own EAN/UPC barcodes and assigned them to products using this plugin. Important: for marketplaces like google you need to use the real codes which only can be purchased online and then imported into woocommerce using this plugin. There are plenty of sellers online who can sell codes to you: https://www.google.com/search?q=buy+UPC%2FEAN+codes

    thanks for your quick reply.

    if we use brand EAN number we need to scan the barcode and assigned to each products and variations . am i right?

    do we need to buy which one UPC or EAN? both are selling online. some are with barcodes and some without barcodes. so we need to buy only the UPC OR EAN codes and no need of barcodes right. pls advise.

    total number of products in our website is 350 products and if we include variations it will come around 7000/-. so do we need to buy only for total number of SKUs- 350 nos or we need to add variations too.? pls advise thanks.

    actually we are looking to enable GTIN number to our products? is there any difference between EAN/UPC and GTIN number. pls advise. bit confused now. thanks

    GTIN it is a general name/alias for the EAN/UPC codes.

    So, when somebody mention GTIN in the internet – they mean actually EAN or UPC codes.

    If you live in USA – you need to use UPC codes.

    If you are from the rest of the world – you need to use EAN codes.

    Correct, for this you can try to find “Barcode Scanner” plugin.

    You need only UPC or EAN codes, barcode image can be created later using third party plugin from purchased codes. The google and other marketplaces request UPC/EAN codes, they don’t request Barcode image.

    Variations are counted as separate products, so I am afraid you will need to get 7000+ EAN codes
