  • Most of your pages 404 as well. Did you change your permalink structure and not update .htaccess? Or add a plugin that requires a permalink update?

I did change the permalink structure. How do I go about updating the .htaccess or reverting back to normal permalink structure?

    Thanks!

So thank him as I didn’t do anything except search for it.

PLugins I currently have installed are:

    Buddypress
    RegisterPLus
    TDO MINI
    BM custom Login

I am trying to figure out how to get Register Plus onto the register link. But I do not even have a register page it seems. What I am trying to do is create a register page.

I looked at that link Blah213, but I do not know why I am changing the .htaccess or what about it I need to change. I am currently using the default permalink structure again and dropped the date/post# one. I just want a register page :< haha

    Bump.

Go back to the link Blah213 gave you, and re-read the content under “Creating and editing (.htaccess)” and “Automatically updating .htaccess”. In fact, I recommend reading the entire page for a better understanding of permalink settings.

    1) fix your permalinks – chmod .htacces to 666, then go to the permalinks settings in your dashboard, and update them. If wordpress can’t write to .htaccess, you will get an error message. Change the permissions back to 644 when you are done updating the file.

    2) make sure “anyone can register” is turned on in your wordpress dashboard settings.

    3) log out, then go to //thesigningclwb.com/rant/wp-login.php and click on the register link. If it works, it’s fixed. If it doesn’t, then disable the register plus and BM custom login plugins (possible compatibility issues with version 3.0. Read the compatibility reports and plugin specs on the plugins page) and try it again to see if the 404 is gone on the register link.

Thanks James and Blah!!!! I will be updating tonight to see if that corrects it!

    Many thanks!
