Register helper Custom field returns array

Hi,

I’m having a strange issue, I have used the register helper add-on to add custom fields on the checkout page which I was able to pull through to the account page however when I use a field type that requires the selection of multiple items e.g. select and checkbox group fields it just returns an array.

Similarly there’s also the issue of not being able to pull through those fields to the member directory add the fields simple doesn’t so up. I have checked the documentation but couldn’t find a definitive answer.

Any help or direction to possible solutions would be highly appreciated.
