    When a registered user logs in and tries to access their profile from the New Ad Post Notification page

    NEW AD POST NOTIFICATION
    You may manage your subscription options from your profile

    they receive this error message

    “You do not have sufficient permissions to access this page.”

    Additional Info: This is the link URL for the word “profile”

    http://whatsenuf.com/wp-admin/admin.php?page=s2

    I hope this helps!

    Thanks

    Dana

    @dana,

    This works fine for me. Try checking for plugin conflicts by disabling other plugins.

    What does “this works fine for me” mean?

    What did you do that works fine?

    If it works fine why do I need to check other plug-ins?

    The above link http://whatsenuf.com/wp-admin/admin.php?page=s2 goes to MY admin
    WP dashboard NOT to the registered user’s.

    @dana,

    It will go to the correct page for the currently logged in user.

    This current S2 operation confuses my users.

    1. They receive a new ad notification in their mailbox.

    2. The notification includes the message “You may manage your subscription options from your profile” AND it includes a link that APPEARS take them to their profile.

    3. When they select the link they see an error message. What a surprise!

    “You do not have sufficient permissions to access this page.”

    4. They do not know what to do and report the problem to me.

    5. Why are they not simply told “You may manage your subscription options from your profile. Simply logon and visit your profile.” A link to the logon page could be provided.

    Is my description of the problem clear?

    Your answers do not align with my questions.

    This problem is NOT resolved until I indicate that this is true!

    Your answering a question does NOT resolve it.

    @dana,

    Your description is now clearer but I still don’t understand it fully. Are “Ad Posts” a custom category on your site? And I have no idea how you are getting that link to a profile in the email message. What is in your template?

    As for the resolved worry you have, since very few people seem to notice or use it, I use it to help me keep track of all the threads on this forum (especially useful when I’ve had limited access opportunities in the last week). I have never failed to reply to you yet so please be patient.

    During the Subscribe2 installation process I created a page for the S2 shortcode.

    The page is named New Ad Post Notification. (My blog displays advertisements)

    I inserted [subscribe2]

    I did NOT created a message template and have assumed S2 sent this message.

    Dana

    @dana,

    Subscribe2 does come with a default template but it does not contain a link to the profile, so I don’t understand how that gets into any email sent by Subscribe2.

    Also, what I don’t understand is how a user can click on that link and get a “You do not have sufficient permissions to access this page” message without them first being taken to the login in screen, for example if I click the link above I get redirected (by WordPress and as expected) to here:
    http://whatsenuf.com/login/?redirect_to=http%3A%2F%2Fwhatsenuf.com%2Fwp-admin%2Fadmin.php%3Fpage%3Ds2&reauth=1
