registered users not receiving e-mail

    Users that register to my blog do not receive e-mail that contains password. My hosting provider requires authentication to the SMTP server to send out mail. This means I have to find the file that will allow me to configure smtp authentication. Where would I do this?

    this link nets no search results.

    I am having this problem too.

    I understand that it might be in the SMTP setting, but wouldn’t that also prevent me from receiving the new user email?

    I get my email, but they do not receive theirs.

    As an alternaive, Is there a way to turn this feature off and let users choose their own passwords?
