Registration and email issues
-
I had set up Ultimate membership some time ago and everything was working fine.
Over the last few days, I tweaked LiteSpeed Cache settings and also set up CDN. I also set up reCaptcha for all forms including login forms.
When I tested my registration page after this, I found that once a user enters their registration information and clicks on “register”, the page reloads but retains the information (username and email) that the user had entered, making it look like they didn’t click “register”. If they click on “register” again, it displays error messages stating that the username and email are incorrect. Even though I have set up a custom message to appear following registration, this does not appear. (It used to show up last week.)
As the administrator, I receive an email about an account pending review. However the user does not receive this email, even though this is set up (and was working last week). When I approve the account, the user does not receive the “account approved email” (this was also working fine last week).
I have tried the following but nothing seems to work:
- added registration and login pages to LiteSpeed’s “do not cache” list
- deactivated LiteSpeed cache (and have no other caching plugins)
- turned off CDN
- removed reCaptcha
- double-checked the UM email settings (users should receive the account pending and account approved emails) and the settings in user roles (require admin review, show custom message)
- disabled “cache user profile” under the UM “misc” tab
Everything was fine last week so I’m not sure what happened. (I did have an issue with staging that malfunctioned – I think this interfered with some of the other plugins. I’m not sure if it affected UM, but I checked all the settings and set them as they were before.)
As I mentioned, I am receiving UM emails as the administrator but users are not. The registration page also doesn’t display the custom message but instead reloads the page leading the user to believe that they were unsuccessful in submitting their registration details.
Any help in resolving this issue would be much appreciated. (I’m new to web development.) Thanks!
