We do not allow updating of other license data using that public facing API query. That could be a general security issue in some cases. So we definitely do not want to allow this in the general plugin (where it will be applied to all installs).
Instead, you can use the following action hook (that we have in the plugin) to override how the activation API query works for your install.

We sell through dealers and do not have the final users contact information.
We would like to collect the final users contact information during the activate process. I am writing my own program in delphi so I can do any set of post/response using curl for windows.
Is this something you could for me.
I can donate/send/pay $250 if you can send me files and instructions on how to do it.
If I were doing it. I would leave activate alone based on the security risks you are concerned about.
I would then add a new slm_action=slm_update_contact using the create key.
So after activation you could update the contact information.
something like this.
