Remembering Repeat Visitors

I just discovered that repeat visitors (guests) always have to enter their email and name. I thought that either WordPress and/or wpDiscuz was supposed to plant a cookie in a visitor’s browser, so that repeat visitors would be recognized and allowed to proceed without entering information. Isn’t this the way it’s supposed to work, as long as the repeat visitor is using the same computer and browser?

Perhaps there’s a setting somewhere for this?
