Hi @my1xt
On the Wordfence Login Security >> Settings page enable the option Delete Login Security tables and data on deactivation.
Make sure that the option Delete Wordfence tables and data on deactivation is NOT enabled in the General Wordfence Options section on the All Options page otherwise all settings will be deleted rather than just the Login Security settings.
Deactivate and activate Wordfence on the WordPress Plugins page.

this does remove the 2FA data, but not the option of 2FA. and I want to use a different plugin for 2FA instead and having 2 2FA options running around is pretty confusing for most people in my opinion.
also I want to note that I did NOT install the login security plugin, just wordfence.

Hi @my1xt
Thank you for the update.
I don’t understand your situation at all. If all Wordfence login security data is deleted and no-one has 2FA enabled for their user accounts then I cannot see what your issue is.
Please provide a very precise and detailed description of the problem.

a picture says more than a thousand words.
nobody asked for any 2FA options, I did not install Wordfence Login security, I just installed wordfence.
long story short this is confusing for people who do not know too much about all the stuff, and I do certainly not want 2 2FA solutions interfere with each other

Hi @my1xt, the 2FA on your screenshot is inactive – so what’s the problem? You mean the problem is there is an option to activate/deactivate 2FA in Wordfence settings?

as I said multiple times. this would be confusing for people as in what to use and how to go around with it especially when for example also in the user list people are categorized as not having 2FA, while it’s just using 2FA from another plugin.
the problem is mainly from a UX perspective rather than a functional one.

Hi @my1xt
Thank you for the update as that explains it perfectly.
It has been intentionally set like that for administrator accounts only so that all administrators know that two factor authentication is available and a way for them to set it up with the least amount of friction.
However, I have passed your valuable feedback to the team for you.
