Remove Author URL bases

    The Permalink Tweaker allows removal of category page URL bases, and allows for WordPress pages to override them. This is a great feature.

    I want to do the same thing for /author/ pages. Either I want to:

    1) Remove the /author/ URL base and use a page instead, so that the author “by _____” line links to the page
    OR
    2) Leave the /author/ URL base, but replace the WordPress author excerpts archive with a custom WordPress page that I created instead

    Hi Vgvge:

    For this, I would suggest you have someone create a plugin for this or perhaps find one that does that. We don’t have anything like this planned in SEO Ultimate.
