Remove cart count from header icon

Hi,

In order to speed up my site, i’ve disabled get_refreshed_fragments (takes 1.25 seconds to load, link details at bottom of post).

This now means my cart count on the cart icon in the header doesn’t update on my home page. Does anyone know the css or other way of keeping the cart icon but getting rid of the count element?
