remove category from link

    Hi,

    I am trying to remove a category from a link so that it becomes uncatgorized. But when I click on the category field in the link, I only see the option to select an existing category.

    What steps should I take?

    Hi @flatword

    Thank you for reaching out.In BetterLinks, “Uncategorized” is the default state when a link is not assigned to any category. It is not an actual category itself, which is why you do not see an option to select or assign “Uncategorized” from the category field.

    If you would like to remove a category from an existing link and make it uncategorized again, you can:

    1. Create a temporary category (for example, “Test”).

    2. Assign the link to that temporary category.

    3. Delete the temporary category.

    Once the category is deleted, the link will automatically become uncategorized.
