For some reason on one of my pages two extra social links show up in the footer where I have the social links menu. All the other pages seem fine and I just noticed this last night. Is there any particular reason this is happening? They both link to the bandcamp page I have the image on the page linked to. It’s not causing any problems per say, I just like to keep my page clean and tidy and also understand why things work the way they do. The links don’t show up in the customization portion where I can actually edit the social links menu, so I’m just sort of confused on how they got there. lol

    here’s the page it’s occurring on: http://www.mattjallday.com/?page_id=609

here’s what the links look like on all the other pages: http://www.mattjallday.com

Thank you for your time! πŸ™‚

    Hi mattjallday,

I have checked sela theme locally & i found nothing bugs it’s working fine.
i think the problem is in your installed plugin so i suggest you to deactivate your plugin one by one & recheck. May be it will help you.

    Best Regards!!

Looks like there’s some stray code outside of the normal areas where the social media items are being output:

    Official Releases

It’s quite odd and I’m not sure how it got there, but the first troubleshooting step I’d suggest is creating a fresh social menu, and reassigning it to the social media menu location. Maybe first try adding just one icon and see if the stray Bandcamp icons appear again, then add the other four, saving and checking the site in between each addition.

Let me know how it goes.

Before you do the above, there’s a stray closing anchor tag </a> in your post content on that page. If you view the source you can see it at the beginning of the post here:

    <p></a> <a href="http://mattjallday.bandcamp.com/album/mind-ego" rel="attachment wp-att-160"><img class="wp-image-160 size-full aligncenter" src="http://i1.wp.com/www.mattjallday.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/12/a2333574047_10.jpg?resize=400%2C400" alt="a2333574047_10" srcset="http://i1.wp.com/www.mattjallday.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/12/a2333574047_10.jpg?w=700 700w, http://i1.wp.com/www.mattjallday.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/12/a2333574047_10.jpg?resize=150%2C150 150w, http://i1.wp.com/www.mattjallday.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/12/a2333574047_10.jpg?resize=300%2C300 300w, http://i1.wp.com/www.mattjallday.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/12/a2333574047_10.jpg?resize=90%2C90 90w, http://i1.wp.com/www.mattjallday.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/12/a2333574047_10.jpg?resize=380%2C380 380w" sizes="(max-width: 400px) 100vw, 400px" data-recalc-dims="1" /></p>

Try switching to HTML view in the post editor on that post and remove the </a> at the beginning. See what that does.

hmmm it fixed it on the desktop version, but when I view it on my phone it seems to still be there. I’ll have to do a little more fiddling to see if I can fix this. I’m getting closer. Thanks again!!!

Now it seems to be back on both the desktop and mobile. This is very strange!

So I tried just making a new social menu. It appears to be fine on the desktop again, but still shows the additional links on my phone. I’ve cleared cookies and what not, just incase it was loading a old version of the link saved on my phone. Let me know how it looks on your end. Thank you for your help!

Ok!!! I fixed it by deleting the page and recreating it. Seemed to do the job. I have no idea what was going on there, but I appreciate all your help and patience. πŸ™‚
