    Hi! Lovely plugin, thank you!
The “Remove Google Fonts” isn’t working with the theme I’m using (GeneratePress) so I’m using the option to remove Google fonts in Autoptimize, which removes the stylesheet but not the preconnect to fonts.gstatic.com and I was wondering, when your plugin does work with a theme, does it remove the preconnect as well? Or just the stylesheet?
And if so, is there anything I can do to make the theme compatible? As in, add something to functions.php? GeneratePress has its own way of self-hosting google fonts but it’s a little involved. Your plugin is very nice and easy 🙂

    Hoi Naomi 🙂

Is this the free version of GeneratePress or the Pro version?

    Hé Daan 😊

    It’s the Pro version.

Ok, cool. I’ll check it out and see if there’s a way to make OMGF compatible with it.

    I’ll keep you posted!

As for your other question: No, OMGF does not remove the preconnect. I haven’t found an efficient way to remove those from WP’s head. But I’m researching it 🙂

    Hi Naomi,

I just tested it with GeneratePress (Free and) Pro and OMGF works fine: Auto Detect as well as Auto Remove.

Would you mind sending me an export of your Theme Settings and send it to me using this form?

Maybe then I can reproduce the issue.

Okay, so it’s probably me 🙂 that’s good to know. Auto Detect worked for me too, it was just the Auto Remove that didn’t. I’ve sent you the Theme settings. Thank you for taking a look, I will look into it some more as well.

    Hi Naomi,

Also with your settings file, OMGF is perfectly capable of detecting and removing the fonts. So, it must be something in your configuration interfering with it.

Btw. It only detected Amiri. And judging from the URL you provided, you only needed Amiri and no calls are made to Google’s servers.

So, I think you got it to work?
