Well technically BPS is already GDPR compliant currently even with logging IP addresses for errors or blocked hackers or spammers ONLY and not all website visitors. The GDPR IP address ruling/description is too general/broad a scope. Someone needed to create more definitive cases of IP address usage, but obviously that did not happen. I understand what the GDPR is attempting to achieve overall. How BPS is logging and using IP addresses internally for itself does not really come anywhere near violating what the GDPR is all about.
I believe the next BPS plugin version will be released sometime in the next 7-10 days, but it could be up to 14 days from now.
If you are worried about violating any GDPR rules/regulations then you can turn Off BPS Security Logging for now.

BPS 3.1 has been released with a new Setup Wizard Option called GDPR Compliance, which turns off all IP address logging. A Dismiss Notice is displayed to let folks know about this now option.
