Remove Malcare from Website

    I’m migrating a site that has used Malcare in the past to a new server.

    The site is working fine on its current host – the Malcare plugin is installed but it is disabled.

    When I copy the site to a new server I’m getting a 500 server error and checking the logs I’m seeing this:

    Got error 'PHP message: PHP Warning: Unknown: open_basedir restriction in effect. File(/home/storm/sites/cumbriacrack-com/public/malcare-waf.php) is not within the allowed path(s): (/home/storm/sites/staging-cumbriacrack-com-1/:/home/storm/tmp/staging-cumbriacrack-com-1:/tmp) in Unknown on line 0PHP message: PHP Warning: Unknown: failed to open stream: Operation not permitted in Unknown on line 0PHP message: PHP Fatal error: Unknown: Failed opening required '/home/storm/sites/cumbriacrack-com/public/malcare-waf.php' (include_path='.:/usr/share/php') in Unknown on line 0'

    SO it looks as though something is referencing Malcare once the site has been copied – even though I had disabled it on the original site.

    How can I completely remove Malcare from the copied site?

    Hey Stuart!

    Thank you for your message.

    This is coming from the php.ini or the user.ini file. Can you please check these files & remove the malcare-waf.php require from there?

    That should fix this issue that you’re seeing.
