Anything that gets shown in the sidebar is shown using appropriate widgets, so if you don’t want pages to show, simply remove Pages widget.
It could be that some elements are shown because you have example content showing up. In order to switch it off, please go to Appearance -> Customize -> General Settings and switch off Show Example Content? option.
