• Hi,
Is it possible to remove the player when I’m showing a list of WordPress posts (with read more tags)?

I’d just like a cleaner look to the list. I still want the player to appear at the bottom of posts on individual post pages.

I have forwarded your post to the lead developer of PowerPress. He will respond as soon as he’s available.

    Hello @calebsg0,

You can use the shortcode and place it below the more tag then configure the option so the player is not displayed unless you use the shortcode, this option is set in the “Display Media & Links” section under the “Website” tab in PowerPress settings.

The list posts pages typically use the the_excerpt function calls. If that can apply to you as well, go to PowerPress settings > Website tab, make sure the option titled “Display media / links in: WordPress Excerpts” is unchecked, it is under the player and links section near the top. Don’t forget to click save.

    Hi @amandato,

This is the page I’d like to adjust the display on:
    https://www.onlyyouforever.com/us/onlyyouforever-podcast-episodes-listing/

I’d like the player to be hidden on these listing pages. The challenge with your approach is it requires me to go back and edit 140+ posts in order to add the shortcode.

I have the Excerpts box unchecked.

Are there any other options for making sure the player does not load unless I’m on the actual post page? Thanks!

    Hello @calebsg0,

I have been thinking about this, I think I have a solution that may work. Are you familiar with editing the wp-config.php?

    Thanks,
    Angelo

    Hello @calebsg0,

I actually decided on coding a solution within PowerPress. If you know how to manually install plugins, can you install the pre release version and check the new option I added under PowerPress Settings > Website tab, check the box for “Hide player / links: Read More tagged posts”. Let me know if this works for your situation.

Awesome! We will be pushing this update out sometime this week!

If you have a moment, we would greatly appreciate it if you could leave our plugin a review. Thanks!
