I’d rather have it replaced with a thin line like the one above it. How can I do that?

Try adding this CSS to Theme Options> Custom CSS:
```
ol.media-list>li.comment {
    box-shadow: none;
    border-bottom: 1px solid #eee;
    border-radius: 0;
}
```
