Plugin has no ability to re-install itself.
It very much sound like you issues are caused by some kind of cache. It’s either your caching plugin for WordPress or some caching system from your hosting.
Thank you for your response, I will check these things out, but why can’t I even deactivate it and delete from plugins?
Most probably because your cache is still showing you outdated version of your site.
Cache where, in my Chrome browser? No. Site is new today, I can delete your plugin in cpanel reload a post that I am trying to make and the plugin is then back in the plugins file. I have renamed google analytics because it has a cache…..made no difference.
This has wasted hours of my time….. it’s crazy. I dont even know where it came from.
First of all – never rename plugin folders. renaming folders is not deleting plugin it just forcefully deactivates it (sometimes incorrectly). Re-activating plugin from renamed folder will cause you a whole bunch of troubles.
Cache could be in 3 places:
1. Caching plugins.
2. System Cache from your hosting provider.
3. Browser cache.
First delete ALL FOLDERS with ALL plugins that you were ever renamed. Then deactivate all cache plugins that you might have. Then try a different browser. Then please make sure your WordPress is NOT managed by some third party service, that sees your actions like an attempt to break your site and automatic ally restores it’s configuration.
