I’m not quite sure what you mean by unused images? Do you mean the extra resizes or something like that?
Hi, yes the extra resizes..there are allot of them. Ive try to delete a few with extra resizes without deleting the main img..afterwards that image ismt shown anymore in the website neither in the media gallery, only as a grey square
Yeah, you don’t want to remove the thumbnails, that’s what is used in the Media Library display. The other resizes can be removed safely if you aren’t using them.
I’ve seen this plugin which claims to accomplish what you’re looking for: https://ww.wp.xz.cn/plugins/optimize-images-resizing/
If all you have to worry about are the default 3 WP sizes, you can set the dimensions to 0 to disable them in the future, otherwise you can use the advanced EWWW settings to disable creation/optimization of resizes.
I almost have no space in disk because of this. So i have install this plugin (Optimize Images Resizing) it will remove the ones im not using?
I believe it will remove ALL resizes (at least that is my understanding), and if you leave it enabled, it is supposed to dynamically (re)generate any resizes as they are needed. I’ve never used it myself, so I’m not 100% sure how part #2 works. There is also a Regenerate Thumbnails plugin if something goes awry, and you need to just regenerate all the resizes again. I would also highly recommend taking a full backup of your files (or ensure that your webhost has a recent backup) before you delete all your resizes.
Ok thanks for the feedback. I did a backup but i had to do it through php, i coudnt use duplicator plugin because of the connection time, its getting too big.
Thanks, i’ll try to plugin you suggest
