Remove url suffix for additional languages

Hello,
I was testing with Polylang plugin to add additional languages in my site. I added Spanish and French as additional languages. But when I was adding home page for these languages, the home page permalink were added at the end e.g. https://autoplusperformance.com/es/home-page-espanyol and https://autoplusperformance.com/fr/home-page-french. If anyone changes language from home page, the suffixes will not look good at all. So how can I make it https://autoplusperformance.com/es/ and https://autoplusperformance.com/fr/ ?Please help me regarding this.

I have the same issue on my site:
Homepage cimoio
For some reason, a /startseite/ has been inserted to my slug for DE-language pages.
And in addition, these sites were marked as canonical for GSC.
As indicated in this thread: Polylang Support Request, I already activated the Checkbox in polylang >> settings >> URL-modifications: The front page URL contains the language code instead of the page name or page idBut this didn’t change anything.
