Removing URL

    I need to remove the “URL” section from the comments field on my site. I am constantly getting spam on my site and I think if I can remove the URL field from the comments it will decrease the spam on my site a lot.

    I have done some searching on this site but nothing I found seemed to work for my site. I was searching for “comment_form()” and “URL” in the comment page of my template but I came up with nothing. There was something else I searched for but I forget what it was. I figured I would start my own thread on here to get this resolved. Thank you in advance for any input you can give on this matter.

    Not sure if it would matter at all but the theme I am using is “Comedy Magazine 1.0 by qualitywordpress” I have edited the colors for it but I think that is all I have done to this theme.

    You are getting spam posted in comments?

    If so use a captcha plugin eg SI CAPTCHA Anti-Spam is the one I am using. The spam is created by bots searching sites and adding comments to backlink to their sites. Captcha will block bots as you need to read a picture and fill up a field which at this time only humans can do.

    I will check out that captcha plugin. Thank you for the tip. I am sure that will not end the spam but sure should cut it down. I know there are programs out there that will auto fill in the captcha for you. But those programs cost money for each captcha that it solves for you. Anyways, thanks again.
