I need to rename the post_type base from “event” to “events” how could I do it?

Check arguments of register_post_type.
Set $arguments['rewrite']['slug'] to your base.

I cannot change this. The post_type is already registered by the “The Events Calendar” plugin.
Is there a way to override this in you plugin?
