Why is it that if I customer opens a renewal order and then I complete it the subscription renewal date is automatically updated, but if I as an admin open that renewal order and complete it I still have to go update the subscription renewal date manually?

    Hi there!

To better understand the issue you’re facing, could you please confirm which plugin you’re using to manage the subscription renewal orders? Since WooCommerce does not have built-in recurring order functionality by default, the behavior you’re experiencing might be related to the plugin.

Also, I would suggest contacting the plugin support directly for further assistance, as they would have a better understanding of the settings and plugin configuration.

    Thank you

    I’m using woocommerce subscriptions.

    Hi @gpb68

Thanks for the added info! To answer your initial query, when customers complete a renewal order, the system automatically updates the date for a smooth experience.

However, when you, as an admin, complete the order, you have more control, so the subscription date doesn’t change until you update it. This helps avoid any unwanted changes to the subscription schedule.

As a solution, you might want to check out automation tools like AutomateWoo. It can help with manual triggers/workflows that change the subscription renewal date when the order is completed.
