Repetitive image file

While downloading the images via XML, the same source image is recreated and gets the “…..-1” suffix. In other words, 2 images of the same size are formed. This causes it to take up space. I did a clean install of wordpress and your software is causing this image.

The attached picture shows what I mean. The “296.85KB” image named “4.gif” is cloned and a separate image named “4-1.gif” is created. Moreover, the same size and kb.

How can I prevent this “…..-1” image from appearing?
