• Hi all

I’ve a problem that in first instance can be quite obvious but I can’t solve.

I upload the featured image of a post, lets say at 800×400, and it appears ok in the places where it does at 800×400.

The problem is that wordpress uses thumbnails of this image to show for example the image of the post in “related articles”, and it can be at 150×150 or 123×90 or so.

Why problem? Firstly, proportion between width and height is hugely different from 800×400 (2:1) to 150:150 (1:1). Its almost impossible to make an image 2:1 not to lose important parts when automatically cutted to 1:1. I know I can set by drag and drop the part of the image I want to use as thumbnail, but it’s not enought.

Second problem, even without change proportion of image, sometimes an image that looks ok at 800×400 does not at 150×150 (unreadable text, etc).

So, I want to be able to manually set a different image as the featured image at a given size. In this way I could design in photoshop a different version of it, not only a cropped one.

I mean, not a completely different image, but a one where I can resize elements, disable some of them (such as text), an it can’t be made by cropping.

Is there any way to do this?

    Many thanks and regards.
