replace Divi vertical navigation with custom sidebar

Hi guys! 🙂

I’m super new to this so my apologies if this is the wrong place for this.

So I’m using Divi by elegant themes. However, my client wants a sticky sidebar with twitter feed, social icons, and a few other pieces of info.

I’ve tried a number of 3rd party plugins like Q2W3 and they almost work, but the twitter feed expands and just looks messy.

Is there any way to replace the vertical navigation feature (http://www.elegantthemes.com/preview/Divi/home-basic/) with my own widgets? I’m sure there’s some function.. hooks, whatever. but my brain doesn’t like code so I need help 🙁

I would use x theme (http://theme.co/x/demo/icon/3/) but then it’s a hassle to change the background color and gah!

Please can anyone help? It seems this is beyond the scope of support for elegant themes =(
