Replace header with a slide show IE problem

I have the Twenty Eleven Child Theme and have followed the instructions below to replace the header with a slider.

Its worked perfectly apart from when viewed in IE10. The page is ok up to where the menu appears under the slider – then there is a tiny black squire in the left where the menu should be then the page is split. If you scroll down about a page length the menu and the rest of the page is there. The site is perfect in Firefox and Chrome. I have not tested any other versions of IE

I have also dropped in some CSS to but a box around the page and add a shadow background.

The site is not live, but is currently being tested using USBserver. Any fix ?? Is it down to the fact I’m running on a local server, IE did have a moan about the intranet it was accessing ??
