Replacing SharePoint with WordPress??

    Currently run a SharePoint site but it has a number of shortcomings and looking at replacing it. I’m well aware of WordPress’ abilites as blogging s/w but I’m not sure if it can do other things I want.
    Apart from (just 1) blog, we need…
    – Discussion Forums (with reply notifications)
    (Obviously possible, viz these forums, but I’m not sure how!)

    – File Repositories

    So, will WP do what I need and with what Extensions?
