REQ: Start/Stop Publication

    I recently found this plugin. We were looking for one to allow us to post files for a limited period of time. I like what yours does, and would love to keep using it.

    I don’t see this feature, not sure if I missed it, but I’d like to be able to be able to set start/end dates on files for publication. Consider it like a post.

    We have a file list that’s static, but we also release files that require x days publication prior to an event. Its not worth an actual post page, there is no story or news that needs to go with it, but the file does need to be “found” on our site for x amount of time.

    Any ability/consideration to add something like this, assuming default is “forever” so it won’t break files by existing users.

    Hi grungyape,

    First, I’m glad y’all have found DG useful.

    Regarding expiration of files, unfortunately I think this probably falls outside of the scope of what DG would logically do (really too specialized). That said, there is no reason DG could be part of the solution you are describing…

    Since DG takes the current attachments meeting the gallery criteria when a page is viewed, if an attachment is later removed, DG will not show that attachment any more. Something like Post Expirator, in combination with DG, would give exactly what you want. Unfortunately, the Post Expirator doesn’t look like it would work for attachments, but if you look around you may be able to find another plugin that would (or make an enhancement request on that plugin).
