All of a sudden we are getting blocked. Host is WPEngine so not a random host. Any solution?

    Mailchimp returned the following error:
    Service Unavailable.

    Request:
    GET https://us9.api.mailchimp.com/3.0/?fields=account_id

    Response:
    503 Service Unavailable

    Request Blocked

We blocked your request because the IP address you’re using looks suspicious. This issue will usually resolve itself after a short period of time, and you can try your request again. You can also try using a different IP address to see if that resolves the issue.

If you are on a shared IP address, the solution would be to switch to another (private) IP address.
If you go that route, make sure with your hosting support that they do route OUTGOING cURL requests made by PHP over your private IP. Often even when you set up a private IP for your hosting it’s only used for inbound traffic and not for outbound traffic.

Other than that, what host you’re on doesn’t really matter, as long as you use a shared IP, another user can do something to get that IP temporarily blocked. Usually it gets unblocked by itself after some time.

Ok thanks for the speedy reply. weird that this just happened with such a widely used host. I’ll check back with them (and Mailchimp.)
