Request: less dashboard widgets active by default

    Hi,

    every time I install the plugin on a new site it will flood the dashboard with all widgets active by default. I know there is a setting to disable dashboard widgets but it would be nicer for the users if you just activate “Traffic overview” by default and leave it up to the user to enable all the other widgets.

    Hi @migaweb ,

    Great point! We agree that a fresh install shouldn’t feel cluttered, so in the next release (14.14 or 14.14.1) of WP Statistics we’ll switch the defaults: only the “Traffic Overview” widget will be enabled out of the box, and site owners can opt-in to any other widgets from the settings screen.

    Really appreciate you helping us make the plugin better.

    I’ve just installed the latest version 14.14.1 and sadly it still enables all dashboard widgets. So both updates between now and my initial request didn’t fix it. I’ll put it as not resolved again and hope it will be fixed.

    Thank you for following up and for testing the latest release.

    You’re absolutely right — the change hasn’t been included in version 14.14.1, and I truly appreciate your patience.

    We’ve added this improvement to our roadmap for the next release, and we’ll make sure the dashboard widgets load more cleanly by default, with only the “Traffic Overview” enabled.
