We use this plugin extensively on many of our sites but I didn’t realize until today that the /calendar/ permalink was usurped by this plugin. From what I can tell, this means that any child of a /calendar/ page will kick a 404 error. I’ve been able to work around this so far but I know that there are some of our sites that have an extensive /calendar/ section and I doubt I’m the only one.

FWIW we would really love for the use of /calendar/ as the permalink structure to be an optional one, maybe with a setting to specify the permalink structure? Otherwise I think it would be better to return to some thing less generic, even if it isn’t as SEO-friendly.

So the problem is that the plugin uses the calendar slug?

This isn’t a problem report per se but more of a feature request.

Yes, the problem is the use of the ‘calendar’ slug which is often already used in sites we see. Also in my experience with converting our sites to Simple Calendar, any child page of ‘calendar’ won’t resolve at all while this plugin is activated. In fact it didn’t work until I cleared out the plugin data completely. I’m just saying this may not be clear to users and if there could be an option to specify the slug rather than taking the term ‘calendar’ that would be preferable.

Alright thanks for the additional info. I will bring this up with our team and see what we can do about it.

    Thanks for the feedback!

Closing this since it is a feature request. I have added it to our GH for us to discuss when the time comes.

    THanks for the feedback!
