Require Address Approval

    Hi All,

    I am looking for a way whether it be a plugin or something else to require customers to have their shipping address approved before being allowed to use it when placing orders.

    Any thoughts?

    Hey there @ashission,

    We offer the Postcode/Address Validation extension for just this purpose. It works great to verify those addresses before shipping.

    Hi,

    I am not looking to verify addresses. I am looking to approve them. I dont want a customer to be able to use a shipping address unless I have already approved it.

    Does this do that?

    Hi @ashission,

    Thanks for clarifying there. No, the Postcode/Address Validation extension will not send the order or address to you for approval. We don’t offer an official extension which does this exactly.

    One way to do it would be to require customers to log in before checking out; this can be done by disallowing guest checkout and disallowing account creation at checkout. More on that in the settings guide here.

    Then, you could use the Approve New User Registration extension along with Custom User Registration Fields for WooCommerce to collect shipping addresses and approve those new users before they can buy.

    If you don’t want to require account login before checkout, some kind of “order approval” plugin would be needed.
