requirements for free server-based compression

This message means that your server does not allow the local tools to operate (or maybe even be installed) on your site. As such, the free service doesn’t have any tools that it can use and so… can’t be used. We have allowed for free JPGs to be processed through our premium service in these instances, but for more than that, you would need to get a subscription. Nothing has changed on our end. However, it’s possible you just need to ask your web host to turn on the exec() function. These are the tools that the free version of the plugin uses: https://docs.ewww.io/article/6-the-plugin-says-i-m-missing-something
