You could switch to the new fluid width options, setting a 100% (or 95%) width, max width of 1000px (or whatever your regular site has) and min width as 800px.

The resolution settings for my regular site are 1024 X 768, so I assume that they would be the fluid options for the maximum width of my blog with the minimum width set at 800px. Is that right? If so, where exactly do I make these settings to control the display of my blog in various devices? Thanks for your help with this.
This is available starting from version 3.6.8 of Suffusion.

Apparently the 3.6.9 version provides for a “flexible width” format. Is that the same as a “fluid format”? What would I cite for the settings in order to produce a display of 800px on a tablet PC without messing up the display of my blog on other devices? I will probably download and install this latest version of your theme, but I don’t want to create new problems if I change these settings. I’m nervous about doing this, because I often run into problems when I try to make changes like this. Thanks for your help with this.
Yes, fluid and flexible width are used interchangeably, and this was introduced in 3.6.8.
I thought my instructions above were sufficient about what your settings should be:
1. Choose fluid width, with your width being 95% of the window. This will ensure that for smaller monitors your content will be within the display.
2. Set the min width to be 800px (or 750px) so that your display doesn’t go weird on really small screens.
3. Set the max width to 1000px, so that no matter what your display size is, your content will not be wider than 1000px. This will take care of larger monitors.
If you don’t like the fluid width settings you can always go back to the original fixed width settings.
