    Hello everyone,

I have WP 6.5.3 installed and was following the steps in https://wordpress.com/support/reset-your-site/ to reset the site. However, I wasn’t able to find the reset option as described in the article. Can someone please confirm if the reset option has been removed from this version and I will need a plugin?

    Thank you!

Is your site hosted on wordpress.com? There is no “reset” in the self-hosted version of wordpress distributed here. There are plugins, however, that will do a reset.

    Hi Steven,

    Thank you for the info.

I think I had the concept of “reset” mixed up. I actually meant to “reboot” the website instead of wiping it completely clean and restarting all over.

And yes this is a self-hosted website. The reason I want to do that is to clear the built-in cache if there is such thing. I noticed if I make a change, apply it, clear my browser’s cache and reload, I don’t see the change. Since the site is hosted on a third party service provider, I have no way to clear system cache other than “reboot” the website so that change will take effect?

    I hope this makes sense.

    Thank you!

“reboot” is something you do to a server, not a website. And you probably do not have access at that level on the server. So, if your host is providing a cache, they should provide a way to clear it. Please contact their support.

If you’re caching via a WP plugin, then you should find a clear-cache option in that plugin’s options.
