I don’t think the Customizer is mature enough for this yet. At least I’ve not come across any such functionality. It might be worth posting this as a bug/feature request in Trac on the grounds that the Customizer should really offer the same functionality that’s available in Appearance -> Header.
I can probably hack something together but wondered if there was a hook or something that I was missing that could be used to do this.
Good idea about a trac ticket. Might give it a go.
To be perfectly honest, I’ve been working off Otto’s post on the Customizer. I’ve not had the chance to look through the core scripts myself.
Yes me too. Otto gave a great introduction to using the theme customizer. Trouble is, it’s so good it makes me want to do more! 🙂
Damn! I guess I started too early..I am using WP Theme customizer in a theme and after 2 days of customizing the WP Theme customized, now only realized that it does not have a reset button. Any work around for this, I cant go back now..

You will be pleased to know that a reset button is being added to WordPress 3.5. Check out the latest beta to play around with it.
