Resizing single view after removing sidebar

I love this theme, although I am having difficulty trying to make all of my blog posts full width to match the nav bar.
I have successfully managed to remove the side bar on the single page view but the width doesn’t auto adjust, it is as if the side bar is still there.

I want to keep the sidebar on the home page of where all of my blogs are posted.

Does any one know how i can resolve this?
